Custom printed silk and silk-blend fabric swatches arranged for sampling

FABRIC-FIRST CUSTOM PRINTING

Choose the print base by end use, drape, surface and colour response—not by fibre name alone.

  • Pure silk and selected silk-blend bases
  • Digital print sampling for colour and scale approval
  • Support from base selection through bulk inspection

Custom printing starts with material selection

The same artwork can look and behave very differently on satin, twill, crepe, sheer silk or a blended base. CarinaSilk helps brands compare surface, drape, opacity, colour response and finishing needs before approving production.

What to send us

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about fabric selection, colour approval, artwork, minimum quantities and production.

Which fabric should I choose for my product?

Choose by end use, drape, opacity, surface and target price. Satin gives high lustre and fluid movement, twill offers more body and structure, crepe de Chine has a softer matte texture, and georgette is light and sheer. Silk blends can add breathability, softness, texture or commercial flexibility. Share the product and desired hand feel, and we will compare suitable bases.

Can you match my brand or Pantone colours?

We work from supplied Pantone references, colour standards or approved physical samples. Because fibre, weave and surface lustre affect perceived colour, the final decision should be made on a strike-off printed on the selected base cloth rather than from a screen alone.

What artwork files do you need for sampling?

Send AI, PDF, PSD or a high-resolution TIFF/JPEG at the intended scale, together with the finished repeat, dimensions, cutting direction and colour references. If the repeat or resolution needs adjustment, we will flag it before the strike-off is prepared.

What is the minimum order for custom printed fabric?

Minimum quantity depends on the selected fabric, usable width, print route, finishing requirements and current base-cloth availability. Tell us the sample quantity and expected bulk volume so we can confirm the most practical option in the quotation.

How long do sampling and bulk production take?

Timing is confirmed after we review the artwork, base-cloth availability, colour requirements, quantity and finishing route. A strike-off is approved before bulk printing, and any colour revision or special finishing can extend the schedule. We provide the working timeline with the quotation.

Can you support finishing and quality inspection?

Yes. The project specification can cover printing, steaming or washing, hand-feel finishing, usable width and agreed inspection points. Bulk production is checked against the approved strike-off and confirmed fabric specification before dispatch.
