PRINTED UNPRINTED

HIGH-LUSTRE SILK PRINTING

A smooth, luminous silk base for designs that need saturated colour, an elegant surface and a fluid premium drape.

  • Strong colour saturation for statement artwork and dark grounds
  • Smooth surface supports fine lines, gradients and photographic detail
  • Weight can be selected around the required drape and end use

Why choose Silk Satin Fabric?

Printed silk satin is chosen when visual impact matters as much as hand feel. Its smooth face reflects light cleanly, helping deep colours, gradients and fine artwork look polished in scarves, occasionwear, linings and luxury packaging details.

Plan the right base before sampling

Send your artwork, intended product, target hand feel, quantity and timing. We will match these needs to a current base cloth and confirm the practical sampling path before bulk production.

Frequently asked questions

Is satin always heavy?

No. Satin describes the weave rather than a fixed thickness, so silk satin can be light and fluid for scarves or fuller-bodied for dresses, linings and accessories. Higher momme/GSM generally gives more opacity, weight and structure; lighter bases give more movement and may show greater colour penetration on the reverse. We recommend the base after reviewing your end use, target drape and opacity, then confirming it with a swatch.

Does it print fine artwork well?

Yes. Silk satin’s smooth face can reproduce fine lines, gradients and photographic detail with rich colour. However, very small text, hairlines and low-contrast elements may soften on fabric, and the glossy surface can affect how dark colours appear under light. Supply high-resolution artwork at final size and approve a strike-off to check scale, sharpness, colour and face-to-back penetration before bulk printing.

Can I request a custom base weight?

Yes, subject to base-cloth availability, width and order quantity. Tell us the end use, target momme/GSM, hand feel, drape, opacity and reference fabric. We can compare suitable stock bases and, where practical, discuss a non-standard weight; custom weaving or finishing may require a higher minimum and longer lead time. Final specifications are confirmed in the quotation, swatch and approved sample.
