Gold floral printed silk jacquard fabric showing a luminous woven botanical texture

WOVEN TEXTURE + CUSTOM PRINT

A dimensional silk base that combines a woven motif with your printed artwork for layered, tactile luxury.

  • Combines permanent woven texture with customised surface artwork
  • Adds depth to tonal, geometric and heritage-inspired designs
  • Suitable for premium capsules where tactile distinction matters

Why choose Silk Jacquard Fabric?

Silk jacquard gives designers two visual levels to work with: the structure woven into the cloth and the colour placed on top. The result can feel richer and more exclusive than a flat print, particularly in accessories, interiors and limited-edition fashion pieces.

Plan the right base before sampling

Send your artwork, intended product, target hand feel, quantity and timing. We will match these needs to a current base cloth and confirm the practical sampling path before bulk production.

Where this fabric works best

Statement accessories

Creates scarves and panels with a richer, collectable appearance.

Fashion capsules

Adds structure and surface depth to jackets, skirts and accent pieces.

Decorative textiles

Useful where colour and tactile pattern need to work together.

Artwork and sampling notes

  • Choose the woven ground before finalising print artwork, because the two patterns interact.
  • Keep important logos and small type away from highly raised or visually busy woven areas.
  • A strike-off on the actual jacquard is essential for assessing registration and colour depth.

From file to approved fabric

  1. Brief: share artwork, colour references, end use and target quantity.
  2. Base selection: compare suitable constructions, weights and finishes.
  3. Strike-off: review colour, scale and print behaviour on the selected fabric.
  4. Bulk production: approve the sample standard before printing and final inspection.

Frequently asked questions

Is the jacquard pattern printed?

No. In jacquard fabric, the base motif is created by the weave itself, producing areas that reflect light differently or sit at different levels. Your artwork is then printed over that woven structure, so the finished surface combines a permanent textile pattern with printed colour. This interaction can create a rich, dimensional effect, but it also means a flat screen preview cannot fully predict the result. We recommend choosing the woven base first and approving a strike-off to assess how the jacquard motif affects colour, fine detail and viewing angle.

Can I choose the woven design?

Often yes, but the practical route depends on quantity, lead time, repeat size, loom capability and yarn specification. Stock jacquard bases are the fastest and usually require lower minimums. A custom woven motif involves additional development, including repeat engineering, weave trials and approval before printing, so it normally carries a higher minimum and longer schedule. Share the intended product, reference pattern, finished width and target quantity. We can first compare suitable existing bases and, where the project supports it, discuss a custom weaving programme with clear sampling stages.

Why does sampling matter more for jacquard?

The woven relief changes how light reaches the surface and how printed colour is perceived. The same ink colour can look lighter, darker or more textured across different parts of the jacquard motif, and very fine artwork may compete with the woven pattern. A strike-off lets you review this interaction at the intended scale, check motif alignment and decide whether contrast or colour needs adjustment. It also confirms hand feel, weight and reverse appearance. The approved sample then becomes the visual and technical standard for bulk production.
